Default Boreas Seabed H/H HM

I'm trying to heroway Boreas in HM, and meeting with little success. Half of the time, I die to the first group, and the other half, I die to Argo's group. Specifically, with only 3 heroes I can't seem to account for all three Luxon teams - if I build for anti-ranger/warrior, I lose to Argo, and if I build for anti-caster, I lose to Daemon. Strangely, I've never lost to Aurora, for what it's worth.

The most success I had came from running dual LoD/Aegis, a defensive paragon (Stand Your Ground, Shield Up!, etc.), and a BHA ranger. The henchmen seem to be irrelevant, because they all suck, and taking different combinations of them, including Sister Tai for a third monk, don't seem to make a damn bit of difference - nevermind getting closer to winning, I don't even lose any slower.

Tactics-wise, I'm standing at the top of the hill (behind Rhea), and letting the enemy team walk into the lower area before aggroing them. Talon will usually bodyblock them at the foot of the ramp, but invariably the henchmen move, or the enemies (especially the ranged ones) just get around him. I kill two soft targets first, to waste the boss res sigs, and then I target the most dangerous boss. The exeception here is Aurora's team, where I kill Gita first because I can't kill the squishies through her healing - although again, I've never had trouble with Aurora's team.

Now, from the looks of things it doesn't seem like anyone else has had problems H/Hing this mission, so I can only conclude that I'm missing something really fundamental. I'd appreciate if someone could tell me what that "something" is.

Thanks in advance.

I actually found this to be one of the harder Canthan missions to HH. I imagine it's a bit easier if you're a ranger, as you can prioritise your own interrupt targets, but otherwise positioning is really key.

For both Daeman and Aurora, you can rush out to meet them and hide most of your squishies behind the wall that encloses the central area, ensuring the rangers can't hit you. Argo is a serious pain though - like all HM ele bosses, sometimes his group goes down okay, and sometimes he wipes you instantly - while you're using exactly the same tactics. I found a good way to deal with his group is to try to intercept them with a tank close to the gate that they enter from. After Aurora's group goes down, run to flag your tank (I used Koss with Grenth's Balance - also useful against Zhu Hanuku) close to the gate on the inside, and keep the rest of your team just out of aggro, but within line of sight. When the first of Argo's mob sees Koss, order him to run and attack Argo. Hopefully the two eles will cast their meteor shower close to Koss's starting location, while his finishing location (attacking Argo) is outside the AoE so he shouldn't take much damage from them and you will only have to worry about their Mind Blasts for 60 secs (enough time to kill that team). Call Argo as target for the rest of your team - especially your BHA ranger. Epidemic is nice to spread round the dazed condition, and if you have koss as an axe warrior he can use cyclone axe for AoE to trigger the interrupt on all the bunched casters. You will probably have to kill Argo twice, so make sure you retarget him fast after he is ressurected.

Zhu Hanuku isn't completely easy either to be honest. To give yourself the best shot, try to make sure that you kill as many of the kraken spawns around him before triggering his appearance, and bring a fast recycling interrupt yourself (change secondary to mesmer for power return if possible), to make sure that you can interrupt jade fury.

BTW I agree that the hench at this mission are terrible, but bear in mind that the two assassins both use beguiling haze, which causes dazed and is therefore handy backup to BHA on the two hardest bosses in this mission. I think I ran with Koss (grenth's balance / cyclone axe), Jin (BHA/epidemic), Tahlkora (prot), me (blinding flash / power return) and the two assassins, rit and healer hench.

Edit: I lied, didn't try it until today; beat it on the first try. It turns out that the key point of advice was hiding under the cliff (thanks again), in which case the whole mission is actually a cakewalk. For Argo, I put Emi, a BHA ranger, and a hammer warrior on Argo and rolled his team easily. Kraken loses to BHA for free, and he doesn't even do much damage with his normal attacks. Build hardly seemed to matter - I just had to hide under the cliff.

Tactics > *.
